Who we advise
For those buying, and those advising them.

Private clients
A yacht that fits the way you live
For UHNW individuals and families. I start with how your family intends to use her: where you will cruise, how many of you, for how long and with whom aboard. That brief shapes the search, the shortlist and every question I ask along the way.
From there I act as your buyer’s broker: searching worldwide, arranging viewings, negotiating and organising the purchase, with a reasoned recommendation at each step, through survey and sea trial to the day she is yours. You decide, and your own lawyer, tax adviser and surveyor carry on with their own work.
Family offices
An extension of your team
Family offices bring real discipline to investment and succession decisions. I bring the same discipline to a yacht purchase as the family’s buyer’s broker, including the search, the technical reading and the day-to-day coordination your own team would otherwise have to take on.
I build the brief around the family's position and work alongside your legal, tax, financial and management advisers, each remaining responsible for their own work. You receive clear recommendations through survey and negotiation, and the family decides.

Private banks and wealth managers
Your client appoints me directly
For the one asset class that sits outside your own expertise, your client can appoint a captain-led buyer’s broker to represent them in the purchase, working alongside you and their other advisers.
The engagement is between your client and me, and its remuneration is explained and agreed in writing before any appointment. I can keep you informed as far as your client wishes, so you can see the purchase unfold and advise on financing, structure and custody within your own role.
Alongside your advisers
One purchase, clear roles
Whether the buyer is a family, a family office or a private bank’s client, the arrangement is the same. I act as the buyer’s broker, and the advisers already in place carry on with their own work.
I represent the buyer
I search, work with listing brokers to arrange access, assess suitability, support the negotiation and organise the purchase, and I give a clear recommendation at each decision. The buyer decides and authorises every offer.
Each adviser keeps their role
Lawyers, surveyors, tax advisers, insurers, financiers, registry specialists and managers remain responsible for their own professional work. I keep the purchase moving between them, so you know who is handling each matter and what needs your attention.
Remuneration explained first
How I am remunerated is explained and agreed in writing before any appointment, so the buyer and their advisers can see the arrangement at the outset. The Fees page gives the outline.
Wherever you are
Start at any point in the decision
You may be before the search, holding a shortlist, preparing for a viewing or weighing an offer. The first conversation establishes which decision you are facing.
01
Before the search begins
I agree what the yacht needs to do before any listing is looked at: the cruising pattern, the people aboard, the berth and anchoring envelope, and the crewing model that follows.
02
Shortlist and viewing
I arrange access through the listing brokers and prepare each viewing so that the visit has a purpose. Candidates are assessed against the same criteria, so every yacht on the shortlist is there for a reason, and you receive a clear view on which are worth your time.
03
Offer, survey and sea trial
I go through the survey findings with you and the appointed surveyor in the context of how you will use the yacht, advise on what belongs in the negotiation, and coordinate the sea trial, so you understand which findings change the decision.
04
Completion and transition
I organise the steps to completion with the lawyers, registry specialists, insurers and managers responsible for each, help check crew certificates and sea time before appointments are made, and attend the handover with a clear note of what is outstanding and who is responsible.

What decision are you facing?
If you are weighing up a yacht purchase, at whatever stage, I would welcome a private conversation. A first conversation carries no obligation, and remuneration is explained and agreed in writing before any appointment.
